The first test I scored 80%, after that it went straight 50/50. The ABX was with LAME and I tried a few different bitrates. I'll be damned if I remember what they were lol. I'm guessing 128, 192, and --alt-preset standard, but it wasn't at all thorough. I mainly just don't have any use for lossy. I don't have an MP3 player. I don't download music. And external hard drives are so damn cheap, might as well just do the backup and do it once. With FLAC there's no chance of "Damn, I just realized Lossy Codec X isn't that great actually, now I have to rerip my entire collection!"
Draven- Right now I have 300 albums on my 120 GB hard drive and it's taking up about 84.5 GB, which averages out to roughly 281.7 MB per album. If you have 150 CDs, using FLAC I'd say it *roughly* should take about 42.25 GB of hard drive space to store it all, which it sounds like you have if sleep deprivation hasn't completely rotted the math-doing portion of my brain.
