LITSCSA is an obvious reference to "Black Celebration" by Depeche Mode. There is a skyscraper on the cover, on the back of the booklet it says "life in the so-called space age", and they covered 2 of the songs from that album during that time period (fly on the windscreen and stripped).

My girlfriend was copying my GLU cd's to her imusic and she noticed something.
One of her favorite dj's BT, has an album that has the "christ in the abyss" pic on the cover.
The exact same one on the Empty album.
Interesting tidbit

actually, once you read the book you will know that Stripped was covered live starting in May, 1996 on the Empty tour. The very first time the band EVER played it live was at Axis in Boston 05/96. It was also broadcasted in the WBCN interview in 1996 as well (some of you have that broadcast).

yep, that's the one.

when the album came out, we were asked about it all the time, and i know that sometimes we told the truth, but after being asked over and over again, we used to make crap up about where it came from, so if you find an article online, there's no telling what we might've said about it.

anyway, yes, it's the statue off the Florida Keys. the photographers took so many amazingly beautiful images of it, it was really hard to pick one. we actually didn't even want to use that kind of image when we were told about it, because we thought it was a bit too obvious, but when we saw how beautiful the images were, we were all blown away. Gary has a few of the other images framed in large format. they're amazing.

a goal of mine is to go diving off the Keys and find that thing...we'll see...
