calling her tonight

phone conversation with Gretchen bullet points:

- Gretchen wants the album to end with "Saying Goodbye"
- Gretchen wants the most recent recording of "Keep Dreaming" to be on the album
- Gretchen wants "Take Good Care" to go back to its original title "Take Good Care Of My Baby"
- We are going to go with the version of "Love Will Complicate" without Brittany's vocals. It will no longer be a duet, she is going to be completely removed from the song, and it will go back to being a DRsolo track.

Gretchen is the only one who has those versions of "Keep Dreaming" and "Love Will Complicate". So at this point, I need to wait for Gretchen to get me those 2 tracks, send them to Jeff, he has to master them, we need to drop them into the correct order of the album... and then it will be sent back to her for final approval.

"Love Will Complicate": I'm guessing David did vocals for the entire song as a guide for Brittany to refer to? It would make sense. Now the obvious, somewhat catty question: is removing Brittany a slight against her performance, or more of an attempt to put more David on the album?

David did record a version of the song without Brittany's vocals, I am not sure if it was a scratch track for her to be able to follow along with or not... removing her is not a slight against her performance but something personal that came down the line ( a backstabbing move, we will say). I cant really go into it, but Gretchen said to me on the phone, and I quote, "at this point, I would rather not have the song on the album at all, than have a version with her on it." Thats how dead against she is of having the "duet" version on the official release...

My thoughts on her being removed from the song:

Since she is going to be removed can you post the mastered version of the song that she is on to this board? I mean the song is already mastered and finished and will never be used so why let it go to waste.

Does Gretchen hold a personal grudge againster Brittany or is this something that Dave would have left her off the album also? (If this is none of our business just say so.) If it is the former and not the latter, I would encourage Gretchen to re-think her decision to have her left off. If it is both then by all means leave her off the album.

If she does leave her on the album can you post the version with just Dave cause I would like to hear that?

once we decide which version to use... I will go ahead and post the OTHER version for everyone here, but people here ONLY... I'll do it as a special treat for everyone who has kept this board alive over the years, so lets not try to leak it...

I didn't like her vocals anyway. She sounds far too close to Madonna for my comfort. I HATE Madonna.

While Brittany is great, David wanted the solo version of it on the record. He specifically said this to (i'm sure) numerous people.
