Walt let his deadline go by without getting in touch with us... so now we know where he stands on helping us get david's last batch of songs into everyone's hands, and it's a shame that he went down that road.

I have sent Gretchen 2 full CDs filled with all the versions of How Humans R(x) that David recorded that weren't going to be on the album so she can weed through them and see if any of the tracks can be used elsewhere.

I have to speak with Jeff Cavanaugh today about the mastered version of the album that he has worked on. I have my fingers crossed that I will finally get a copy of, (and finally hear) the final mastered version of the album this weekend from Jeff...

..and then we move forward with that version, with or without Walt.

I had a phone meeting with Jeff Cavanaugh, here is what we discussed:

-artwork to the album
-packaging for the album (we are leabing towards a cardboard slipsleeve case)
-the tracks that will make the final cut (right now we are talking about 11 tracks with a hidden cover song as track 12)
-possibly including the Armada Sound Systems interview David did 11 days before he died as a hidden MP3 on the album
-including a video for "My Till Tomorrow" on the cd that can only be accessed via a computer
-distrobution for the album (both digitally and physically)
-the direction of DavidReillyOnline.com
-the process that Jeff is using while mastering the album at his studio in CA (ie, what sounds will be brought out and the EQ of the album overall)
-how we can get the word out to old GLU and DR fans that the album is out, especially when so many fans dont check this board (we have come up with a pretty solid plan)
-a remix album of How Humans R(x), yes, you read that right, almost in the style of Nine Inch Nail's "Further Down The Spiral" / "Things Falling Apart" / "Fixed" cds, we are discussing a remixed version of the album done by DJs and other bands/producers.

I'll keep everyone posted as it developes further...

Thanks for the update.

Couple of questions:

Will the cover song be a song sung by David that is a cover? Or is it a cover of one of Daves songs by someone else?

Is the tracklisting a surprise or can you let us know what it will be?

Is this a video that Dave was involved in or is this video made posthumous?

You are great man, we all have utmost patience with your progress on getting this CD to see the light of day.

its David's cover of "Love My Way" by The Psychedelic Furs that he recorded back in 2004. He recorded it for fun in his home studio in Ambler, PA but the recording is good enough and sounds more like a DR original song than a cover so we are discussing adding it to the album even though he never intended it to be on the album. I know a lot of people on this board have a demo version of it, David posted it himself online back in 2004 for people to download for free.

The video is actually a video that he was working on when he died. We are just going to finish it. Think of Stanley Kubrick / Steven Spielberg for the film "A.I." The direction and "storyline" of the video was already mapped out by David, along with some shots. We are just going to finish what he started professionally.

The songs that are going to be on the album, NOT IN ANY PARTICULAR ORDER, as of right now:

My Till Tomorrow
Take Good Care
Final Frontier
Saying Goodbye
Just A Clear Mind
Here We Go Now
Love Will Complicate
Brokenhearted
Crazier Than Me
Please Come Back
Love My Way

I didn't know that Love My Way was a cover. You are right...I always thought it was a DR original.
Looks like everything is shaping up quite nicely. Thanks for all you do.
Thanks for the update, sir.

In regards to the video and the interview. This is going to be an album for the fans so I think I speak for everyone when I say more will be great. In fact fill the whole 80 minutes of the CD up. Besides the remix album this will be the last album from DR so make it count. Once again fill it up to the max. Throw everything that is quality on there. No one will be mad. Just keep us updated more than once a month. I always feel bad when I request an update because I know everything that is going on in your busy life. I am sure you have noticed my posts basically sound like I am kissing your ass because I don't want to sound demanding.

peace,
Rob

It appears to me though as far as the DR cd that things only recently started happening to allow the release, also everytime I have requested an update we always recieve a big chunk of news. So I can't complain. I can wait on the tribute cd because to me it is not a big thing. I will get a copy with the mantis package, but it is a tribute cd and I am really looking forward to the DR cd alot more. I also have been waiting for a long time. I just always lurked the board and never posted. It wasn't until recently that I have had the opportunity to have a job where I can access the internet.

Awesome. Can't wait to get this (but I will). I always thought it was neat that David re-did some Fluzee songs for this record.

I believe he is reffering to Jeff Cavanaugh not Jeff Turzo
