Jeff completed the mastering for "Final Frontier" and "Love My Way"

Jeff wants to put Final Frontier on the CD as a hidden bonus track, I am leaning towards not having any bonus tracks that should be part of the album. Why hide a song? lol

If Final Frontier "flows" well with the rest of the tracks then I agree, Do not hide it. However if it does not flow hide it a few tracks after the last with some silence in between. Just don't put it on the same track as the last track with several minutes of silence in between. That is annoying for my MP3 player.

If anything, it will get a brand new track #... it just wont be listed in the tracklisting

Cool, that would work great if it becomes a hidden track.

I just don't understand the appeal of hiding a song. Unlisted with it's own track number? Sure. At least it seems like a bonus then. But stuck after a bunch of silence at the end of the last track was only good back when CDs were something new and amazing. Even then it got old fast.

Like I said before, my vote is that EVERY track on the album gets a track # and listing. There are only 11 songs on this album, why should we hide any?

well I'm sure that its been discussed plenty, but if the track doesn't flow with the rest of the album just list it as the last track with the listing (bonus track) at the end. granted every album will have it, but it would distinguish it from the rest of the album and it would not have to be a hidden track.

Ohh man.

I can't believe what I'm hearing. There's a newly remastered version of The Final Frontier? That is probably my favorite DR song of all time. All through the Rx sessions, I was hoping for this one. Never thought I was going to get it.

You guys rock. I don't care how you want to put it on the CD. Good news all around. And a remix CD, too? Magic. Thanks for keeping it alive guys. This music means a lot to me.

Its funny because Final Frontier wasnt even part of the discussions for being on How Humans Rx. Of course everyone knows about the Fluzee version of the song, but I had completely forgotten that David had sent me a "David Reilly solo cover version" (if you will). I accidentally found it on a burnt cd that David made me before he died. I had completely forgotten that he had "re-tooled" the song in the studio and made it alot more electronic than the Fluzee version. It almost sounds like a leftover Life In The So-Called Space Age track. After I sent it to Jeff and he listened to it, we agreed that David would probably have wanted it on the album due to the quality and how "solo-ized" David made it from the original.

I hope this helps getting you a little more excited for it.

It does. That sounds like a promising track indeed.

Yeah, it does get me to the point of excitement where I feel like I have to pee. I guess there's no chance of hearing the demo version... huh?

Got this e-mail today from Jeff:
Just checking in. The album sounds great. I think I'm "there" on the mastering. I just have to slice up the tracks, flatten them, and format the disk etc.

I guess there's no chance of hearing the demo version... huh?

I've been tossing around the idea of putting the whole album up online with a passcode that only you guys will have to hear it...

I think that would be the best early christmas present in the whole wide world. I am one of those people that like to have something to look forward to also so I would probably only listen to half the songs and then wait until the album comes out to have the "release day jitters." You rock man, definetly toss that idea around a bit more. If you are not able to though I am totally cool with it.

I asked Jeff to send me the finished version of the album, so heopfully I will have it by the end of the month... Even I am interested to see how much work he did on these 11 tracks and how different they will sound from the "unmastered" versions that I have right now.
