i thought these two were the same person...
iwas rereading dave's myspace page and i quote:
In late 2004, solo negotiations began between David and Ruff Nation/tri-media/universal the label out of philadelphia run by Chris Schwartz (the Fugees, Lauren Hill, Kris Kross, Cyprus Hill).
Tragically May of 2005 Davids girlfriend Amy passed away, and Davids condtion made negotiations take longer than expected. Finally, officially signed to Ruff Nation, "how humans R(x)", the full length album, is due in february of 2006.

Yep. Poor Dave man... Talk about a horrible string of events, but he still held in there.
I guess 7 was killed by a train, and I don't really know what happened to Amy. It was discussed in the Philly obit. that someone posted in the David Reilly 1971-2005 thread.

See this is what I am confused about.... Since you brought the drug issue up.... I am still not sure on how the Tribute album will be distributed.... FOr example, if a company comes and takes it and does the distribution then royalties and all that legal sh*t gets in the way and it will take longer than expected.... I can bypass that if I just give them out for free.... But if I do that its at my expense.... I don't mind but I do have mouths to feed and a roof to keep over my head at the same time.... So I going towards trying to sell them at low cost $5 or so and recoup my investment in it and the rest of the money I was thinking of donating it to some fund like for people who are trying to get out of drug habits or something in that nature..... I think its in a way like helping Dave..... NOt sure yet.... I am working on a sample disc which I am putting together just to get the idea rolling and see how I can release it.... I still have to talk to a few people to see their opinions on it.... But the important part of the GLU tribute is that I want it to be fan based and we fans do the work.... The artwork I am creating is just as a sample and will be changed for the real release...... The artwork will be done by us the fans not me..... Lord Of Days I know is working on some and if anyone else wants to contribute email it to me at

If not that route, what about talking to Corporate Punishment or something along the lines of a smaller label that already has Dave's/GLU's support. Or maybe Dave's manager could help w/ arrangements. I'm not sure what you have going on w/ it, and you may already have stuff like that in the works, who knows, but those are some of my suggestions. I suppose we should keep that in the tribute threads though. I'm more concerned about just getting my track done.

Yeah DS is going to help me but thats why I need a sample cd.... Thats why I now want to collect all the tracks that I can.... I was thinking about Ruffnation or CPR but not sure either.... Remember then the whole royalties clause kicks in but the good thing is that I don't have to worry about it.... What I do worry though is if a company does take it under its wing I will lose control and they will print out what they think is good... Not us.... And I really want to get it out there fan based.....

Wow I was confused about the 7/Amy thing, I thought they were the same person, but I read something where they seemed like 2 people and didn't know which to believe. Whoa, losing 2 girlfriends, that's horrible! I can't believe that, he had to be strong to make it through that.

Yes Dave had a strong soul.... I haven't experienced anything like he did but I am not sure how I would have taken it.....

if you guys are serious about this you should write down the questions and set up an appointment with an attorney whos good with record industry clauses and stuff b/c its better to be prepared than to find out too late...an hour of laywer's time is a lot of $$ Though...but who knows?

Actually I am setting an appointment with DS..... I want to see what or where I can go with it.... Then after that I might do the attorney appointment..... I might be able to swing in a few favors to get a free consultation..... But I have to see......
