Crappy Holidays and a Bah Humbug to all :D

Also, I refuse to acknowledge the existance of this supposed holiday 'Kwanzaa' due to the fact that it was 1. Created by a criminal (double murderer) and 2. Created specifically as a '#### you' to white people.

well then no religion would be valid at all if you based it on such a shallow veiwpoint, since protestants seceded from roman-catholicism, which was based on paganism, etc etc. and also what about the early christians who separated from judaism? the all didnt like their precursors and did it to piss off the others and considered themselves valid!

i think that regardless of what religion you are or ARENT, you should not invalidate any religion, especially if you arent religious yourself, since your basis to argue are on a different plane from the people who believe in whatever it is they believe.

and i am stating that because i think this whole "happy holidays" instead of "xmas/hanukah/kwanzaa/ramadan/etc" is bs.
i dont not go to church, i loathe right wing religious zealots, i dont like people pushing religion in my face, but its a completely different story when people are starting to deny multiculturalism and replace it with secuilarity -- which is cool as long as it wasnt blanketed over all american's beliefs. POLITICAL CORRECTNESS isnt even trendy its just propaganda that everyone starts to belive since they are sick of all this retail holiday #### shoved in their faces...

it pisses me off but that doesnt mean im going to denyt my heritage and the culture whihc i grew up with and the basic principles of goodness, peace on earth, and a time for being with my family and sharing good things, which we all know very well, are very fleeting rare moments indeed. im not letting some "media" P.C. propaganda to get to me and to infuse with my beliefs. so i may not go to church or believe in the preisthood or even celebrate mass or any of that, but still i refuse to let some asshole prevent me from saying merry christmas.
its a good sentiment.

if someone is too stupid to see that, then let them humiliate themselves with their ignorance.

When religion talk starts I tend to head the other way. I don't see much use in arguing something where most people get pissed (especially me) and there's no chance of either side convincing the other. Besides, you can't prove something either way. If you could, it wouldn't be faith.

i didnt mean argue for ONE PARTICULAR religion vs. the other i meant about the freedom of having the ability to be on not-be whatever religion you wanted (not) to be, vs. secularity, that in my opinion has been shoved in everyones faces. i dont go to church or anything but lately its been politically incorrect to acknowledge any kind of belief system, wtf?

Since when? In my experience, the vast majority of people are religious and most of them are not shy about saying so (in fact, many are rather pushy about it) and most can't seem to comprehend the idea that someone could have no religious beliefs at all.

(let's see if I can goad her into becoming the troublemaker again 8) )
