Ebbs and flows. This is going to sound weird coming from an incorrigible pessimist, but without the lows how would you know what the highs were?
The other thing I think is that it's part of human nature that we're always nostalgic for the past. When we look back we choose to focus on the good and we ignore the fact that at all times the vast majority of what's coming out is crap. We're constantly bombarded with the new crap so it's hard to ignore it but once it's past we let it go.

I like alot of new stuff... new stuff that typically isn't played on the radio that is. You just have to know where to look.
I HATE Nickelback and all those other #### bands that are out now.

music has always, for the most part, sucked. I don't think that will ever change.

I forgot to mention the 20 year theory. The idea being that the music people listen to in their childhood is the biggest influence on what musicians play as adults. Considering that the mid to late 80's sucked we may have something good next decade.

you now, i sorta had that theory myself, i really was hoping that 2005+ would rawk..but eh everything sounds the same.. so i never listen to the radio anymore., makes me sad. i used to love ray-dee-ooo. i still listen to the college stations, b/c theyre like the only thing that hasnt sold out.

I only listen to the radio on my alarm for about 15 minutes in the morning while I'm getting ready to leave because trying to pick out music would be too difficult in my condition. I'm not a morning person.
It's not just the programming that's ####, the commercials have gotten to be unbearable.

I also thought that 2005 and 2006 will be good for music.... So far I am proven wrong.... Everything nowadays suck.... From music to movies.... I think when one of the two get new blood then you will see everything change.... If you think about it its all relative.... I can't stand music now.... All these nickelbacks and chemical romance b*llsh*t sucks.... I dislike them all.... The last albums I got were Depeche Mode, The Doors, and the first MM album.... Go figure...

Blame it all on censorship..... I don't think thats the problem.... I think musicians have gotten lazy since new technology came into place.... Not enough creativity.....
