my manager is an asshole. i was sweeping the front end, and this big access panel in front of the beverage bar p[opped oput and fell on my leg, spraining my ankle, scraping it, and making my calf swell like almost 2x its size. the #### proick like was liek trying all night to make me think all i had was a scrape when i cant #### walk right, and then when i got my mom to give me a ride (im not #### WALKING on a busted leg) he got so pissed and flipped out on me because i kept insisting on filling out an accident report and he wouldnt let me until my mom got there (That is stupid, my mom had nothign to do with it, what because i was gonna leave, then he HAD TO DO IT?) so obviously that guy has become a #### prick in my eyes since he was so nice then #### acted like i was making either a) a big deal out of nothing -- then whyd he want to send me to the hospiotal or 2) that i was tryiong to do this to get him into trouble.

####!!!! HOW MANY TIMES DID I TELL MANAGEMMNT TO FIX THAT #### THING SINCE IT KEPT FALLING AND CUTTING AND HURTING SO MANY EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS?? WHAT THE ####??? I AM SO PISSED OFF I DONT KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO RIGHT NOW...

anybody have advice?

He should not be a prick for you wanting to fill out an accident report. If you're really angry about it and want to really #### him up you could report him to OSHA. They are hardcore pricks about things like that, and if they visit, I guarantee they will find EVERYTHING and ANYTHING that could possibly make his life hell. Unfortunately sometimes they just send the business a notice asking for pictures of the area of concern and a description of how it will be fixed. If they are not happy with that they will definitely visit.

if you really want to screw with him, you should take pictures of the place before they receive a letter from OSHA, and say they are for your lawyer, because you know once he receives that letter, he's going to make sure everything is in tip top shape before he takes pictures. atleast this is what I would do. Also, I learned from my father as well, is to bring a Micro cassette recorder, and use it during your discussions, in plain view. you don't need to hide it, you could if you want though. I don't know if you like this job or not, but if you don't care for it, I'd say go for it. I don't know, maybe I'm just talking out of my ass here.

Not a problem at all. If you have any other questions please let me know (I know a little bit about this stuff since I'm a manager for a big medical company). I'm sure if you report this to OSHA they will love this one. Especially his failure to investigate the cause of the accident. He should also be keeping an OSHA log / accident file and failure to report stuff like that on the OSHA log is a big no-no.

well ok its been like 5 days since that thing happened, my ankle doesnt hurt, and the general manager talked to me and told me he'd pay for whatever medical bills i get, and that 1) he wants to make sure i'm ok, 2) that no matter what i am suppsoed to fill out an accident report ANYWAY, so i never should have got yelled at in the first place, and he'd talk to him. 3) they're going to fix that stupid access panel and, he reiterated liek 20x, 4) that the accident wasnt my fault.

so im not going to report it, b/c my GM is a good guy, was logical, and isn't being shady liek the other one. in fact all the other lower-ranking managers (2 of them) were like wtf? why didi e yell at you for wanting to fill out an accident report? so um.. well.. my ankles not broke, and all i have left is this ache like my calf muscle got overstretched a it, and my ankle is bruised on the side. i dont think im going to get them into trouble, because all the other managers nipped it in the bud like the following day and talked to me and all that stuff... but that doesnt mean that i still dont want to punch that other guy in the face...

thanks :)
