I have officially heard from David Reilly

I've received an email from David Reilly on Monday the 19th.
Although I won't get into the 'personal' stuff he wrote, he's doing fine and he's confirmed that 'UOTF' will finally see the light of day and that he's actually received money from it. He said he's sorry for releasing an album every 3 years. Some of the things that he's planning on doing are some studio/production work and helping people with substance abuse problems.
It was so great to hear from him and also great to hear that he's doing good and healthy!
Today is a good day!

So I guess there is a chance that this is the last GLU release we will ever see. David Reilly told me that between him and Jeff Turzo and the music industry in general there is a loss of trust of him.
He said if 'Up Off The Floor' becomes HUGE then he'll reform the band.
I hope it does.

Did you inform him of this messageboard? I really don't want to pester him with an email. The last I remember Jeff was doing programming for Neil Diamond and was only going to be a studio member of GLU. Then David formed Fluzee. Well, let's hope UOTF is a smash. I think it's a great album in the #### form I have it. I am going to promote it as much as I can around here. Seeing them live was one of the best shows I have ever seen. David looked really cute during the signing, wearing his flannel pajamma bottoms, and sipping on a beer.

I gave him the link to the message board and the yahoogroup. He said he just posted something but he wasn't sure if he did it right, which I think he didn't because I don't see it. He says he still talks to Jeff Turzo daily and that Jeff is still working on 'WIRED ALL WRONG' and trying to get that off the ground. But it's been like close to 3 years since they were supposed to come out with a new cd. I have yet to see GLU live, I own 'In The Zone' the very expensive live cd they released in 1998, it is so amazing. That's the closest I've come to GLU live though.
Isn't it weird that fans are getting back into GLU after years of no music.
Hearing the news of 'UOTF' has made me fall in love with my favorite band all over again.

"Hearing the news of 'UOTF' has made me fall in love with my favorite band all over again."
Amen to that brother tommy!!! lol I have always kept GLU playing, both for myself.. and my friends here in the uk.. and somehow knew that we hadn't heard the last.
If Jeff and Dave are getting along (and even if Jeff is just a 'studio' partner..) there's no reason for Dave not to ressurect the GLU name surely?
If you read this Dave.. here's to ya

I was looking through your GLU stuff to see a trade but I found out that you already have it:
Live - @ Opium Den 07.18.98 (128 kbps MP3)*
'In The Zone' was a real cd made by a radio so I wouldn't call it a bootleg...but I wouldn't call it 'official' either. I can't find anymore and mine was like $35.00. It came with 4-6 sheets of papers describing the broadcast, songs-titles, length, etc.
It's actually a 2 disc set but the other disc is a crappy band on Nitrus records.

Hmmmm.... I'm not too sure what station it was released by. I have the cue sheets but threw them somewhere under my bed as soon as I got the cd. I love the cd so much, David Reilly talks a little bit to the crowd too.
If you want the real one check it out here:

if you find the prices too high let me know and I'll see what I could do.
