Wired All Wrong CENSORED?

I ordered the Wired All Wrong disc from Amazon. Great music. But every time there's a cuss word, it's cut out. It's also cut out in the liner notes.

How did I end up with a censored copy of this, and how do I get one that isn't? Agg, there's something about the way Matt says "$hit Like That" that is thoroughly amusing to me.

no, it's not censored.

From the Wired All Wrong myspace:

About those 'edits' on the CD

First off we appreciate how heated some of you are about the CD not being explicit. The vocals are indeed edited as are the guitars drums and almost anything else we can get our grubby little programming hands on. This was intentional from the beginning of this project and is not a 'clean edit' of the CD - this is the CD. That being said we will make the alternate 'cuss' versions available for anybody who wants them.

Peace, jjeeff"

there you have it. :)

Yeah, I guess they have been getting alot of #### about it. Its been discussed on their myspace page and in their interviews.

I have no issue with it if it was the way it was meant to be (which I figured it was when I bought it).

It sticks out like a sore thumb.

really? i think it sounds really good. plus, it saves on censorship costs for the radio (15 minutes should be a single).

I actually like it too. I thought they were just going to drop the vocals out, or (even worse) "bleep" it out. But they didn't. In most cases, they added some sort of additional instrumental and worked it in. I would have loved it had the explicit lyrics been left in...but would I have loved it more than I do the way it is?...I doubt it.

Not that I'm a purist by any means, I have the mouth of a sailor, but I think the lack of cussing is vastly overrated, what ever happened to just enjoying the music?

Are we really so immature that the lack of cussing takes away from the music? It's not like we have the poor censor beeps/silence that albums in the 80s had. Lighten up guys!

PS: "Nothing At All" should be their first single/video, it's the most pop-ish track.

and i dont know if y'all noticed but it's not censored on everything, on "You're Freaking Me Out, Girl" Matt clearly says the word "s h i t", so i mean it's not like it's a huge thing

Actually, there's something stange going on with "You're Freaking Me out Girl" I'm assuming you have the ITunes version Nikon. I bought both the CD and the ITunes version and the CD version has a weird drop-out on the "cuss" word, whereas the ITunes version has no "edit". I'm thinking that at the last minute there was one cuss word that still existed that they may have forgotten about and at the last possible chance, they might not have been able to do a "cool" edit and they just decided to drop the word on the CD version.

the myspace blog, where jeff states that the censors were intentional for the record, but having two different versions of the record (itunes, and hard copy) make it kind of funny. like saving on radio editing.
