i don't have a band right now, so there.

but i have downloadable records (cd's are cassettes at this point).
in fact i am working away at my second ep in three months right now. "Noisy #### II" if anyone gives a ####. also, as usual, i am looking for remixers, so if my previous remixers are interested...

ya im downloading noisy ####... but i still like physical media better... comparing it to cassettes is a bit harsh. higher quality, no drm.... your choice of how you want to encode it, most the time really good art, but the main thing its half the price to go buy a cd than to just download it on itunes or where ever... [where i live]
but i guess its a different story for independent artists

personally, i believe in free recorded music. with technology as available as it is today, a band could record an entire album for nothing. ####, i record every #### day for nothing. so, as long as noone is taking your songs and claiming them as their own, free music is how it should go. Besides, for the most part, bands (especially indie bands) make their money on shows, and with whatever merch is on the stand at them. As far as I am concerned, my music will always be free (and not only because it sucks fat balls, but because of the principal). I am alive to make music, so charging for free recordings seems like cheating to me.

btw, I hope you like "noisy ####". there are two remixes from Gluboard members on there, so make sure to show them love. also, "Noisy #### II" is coming fast. it's a ton more violent, expansive, and intricate.

I think that all depends... I too like to have a cd and a booklet with my music... I like to read those things... Ofcourse I only read it once and never see it again but its like the feeling of having the complete record in your hands... But Asamorris is right... Most indie bands do make money on the merch table than the actual cd... But I haven't forgettin bob... I have cd's now all I have to do is get them autographed and I will send them to you asap... Hopefully next week...

yeah, i got a bit carried away. but what i have noticed, is that a lot of bands now, who are doing internet only release of their records, include .pdf files of the "booklet" that you print yourselves.
