I was wondering if anyone has ever met a member of GLU? Or at least talked online to anyone? If so what did you talk about? How did they act? Where they cool or not so cool?
Just wondering.

GLU is probably one of the bands ive seen the most (somthing like 10 times) i have met spoken to everyone of the band members breifly after shows on numerous occasions, i went to see fluzee's first performance in ambler pa a while back and afterwards david invited me and my friends and the other fans that showed up (about 5 people total) to his apartment (which was 2 blocks away) after the show, it was a very surreal experience but it definatly rocked! it was interesting to see where and how david lived. my coolest (and wierdest) experience with GLU members was when we invited david and adam to play an accoustic set at my guitarists house during the summer (pics at enjoyfluzee.com) i drove to philly really early in the morning and picked up david and adam to bring them back up to north jersey to play the show, we had a good old time on the ride and hangin out at the house, it was a very cool accoustic GLU/Fluzee set. (one line drawing played as well) ....... that was a mouthful, im still trying to obtain the video and audio from both of those performances, ill let u guys know when i get my hands on it. :D

summerfest '98

Post by wrat »

I had the extreme fortune of being able to see GLU play at summerfest in 1998. Not only did I see them play, I got to meet them and get an autograph. I am seriously dissapointed I don't know what happened to it. But, atleast my vinyl with the depeche mode cover and from your mouth remixes on it is safe. I used to talk to David online in the past. He and I had some really good talks, I was going to interview him for an online dj site I was working on at the time. He was a very caring guy. I told him I was an aspiring musician and he made sure I knew he didn't think I had to do drugs to write good music. Of course it does help. I started doing drugs to allay my pain and hide from my problems though. I was talking to him right before 1500 collapsed. A ton of horrible #### was going on which I'd rater not reveal without his approval. He has had one of the worst lives I have heard, but I admire his strength. He's probably immune to our pathetic things we call problems. Anybody that could go through what he did and come out, still leaving an impression on the world, and being able to smile looking back at it all is aok in my eyes. I hope we hear more soon. Also, anybody that has a copy of these rare albums, c'mon share. Especially for the poeple who missed out on receiving their copy. The site was down before I had money so I didn't get a chance.

Man that sucks. I really hope David Reilly has got his life together. I also hope we all hear from him musically really soon.
If he ever died would we ever know?

but I believe someone would inform us all somehow. he's not unknown. I heard "From Your Mouth" on both the movie "Gossip" and played during a TRL segment. Keep in mind the bowie cover, "Fame" being on gone in 60 seconds maybe? I really don't watch movies so forgive me. But I know it was blockbuster movie. Also, Johny Nuemonic has "No More Love" on it. Wherever David is I would like him to know I really enjoy his music. I could maybe try emailing him? Has anyone else tried and have gotten a response? I know he is still an AOL member.

I've talked with some woman who is obviously affiliated with David Reilly in some way on IM. Apparently someone was over at her place and put my name on her buddy list, and the rest is history.

I've talked to David on IM a couple times too, but that was a long time ago.

You want a David Interview??

Post by armada_sound »

You got it : http://soundsystem.creativearmada.com , you can subscribe in iTunes or use any other podcast reader to get the interview. It's a hefty download but full of David and his music and well worth the time.
Tell everyone.
David and his new album will blow up this next year. Let's all make it happen!

Cheers,

HiFi
