SLAMSCAPE ..SUCCESS!!!!!!

Post by Red mantis »

Interesting.... I discovered my DVD rom will read the disc(and most likely copy). I never tried that before! I will do some research to see if I can pull the files out.

edit- The music on this game is really out there. Is it connected with GLU as well? or is it just the music videos?

have you ever tried to explore the cd-rom before?
the video files are probably just on there with a normal format playable in WMP or Quicktime.

Yeah, I looked through it. My computer is not recognizing the file formats. I was hoping for the same.... There's nothing marked the obvious like "glu videos" either :(

If I can get them to play on media player or something, I was hoping I could just record it if all else fails!

they have to be on the cd rom somewhere.

I have the ps version, but not AIM. I don't think i'll be able to send the files due to the size. My email would not let me send a 170 kb file.
What program do you have? if it's not too hard, I may be able to do it. this is what I'm looking at right now:

http://www.zophar.net/tech/files/psfrip.txt

It looks like I may have to learn the programming language to do it. (ACK)

an alternative would be to record it on a vcr, get an adapter for the pc, then pull it out that way. The quality would be munkydung by the time I go through all that. I am also going to look into PS emulaters, but I havent got that far yet.

If all else fails, PM me with your address and you may find something in your mail box in the near future.

what are the file names listed on the cd once you explore it?

Is this the PC one or the PS one?

PS version. I have a "MOVIES" file- everything inside is labeled like AWX.str. they are all .str files. There s also a curious file named ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.file with no flie type listed.

I'm going to bed for tonight. I will continue tomarrow!

FYI:

"The music in this game was written almost entirely in a big bus during god lives underwater's 1996 national tour using a Novation bass station, Nord lead, Kurzwiel 2000 sampler, Macintosh Quadra, and Macintosh Powerbook."

No luck yet on the soundtrack. I tried to upload the video files tonight but it cut me off... I'll try again tomorrow night.
