THE FTP: EVERYTHING GLU! AUDIO & VIDEO *RARITIES*

Post by Fiveliter302 »

OK, since there is no real good place other than the gmail acct. to upload stuff, and even that doesn't work so well, I am going to let you guys use my server. I will add all the stuff that I have as well. I have about 10gigs of space and alot of bandwidth.

You can access the stuff on here by either one of two ways:

1. Going to this link
http://glu.fiveliter302.com
USERNAME: enjoyglu
PASSWORD: davidrr

OR

2. Using ftp (YOU MUST USE AN FTP PROGRAM TO ACCESS THIS WAY!)
HOST: ftp.fiveliter302.com
USER ID: enjoyglu@fiveliter302.com
PASSWORD: davidrr

Here is a free ftp program you can use if you need one http://www.download.com/FTP-Surfer/3000 ... 39779.html

You can upload stuff using the ftp access, but only download using the link (option 1).

I am asking a few things:
1. Use this ONLY for GLU related things (I WILL delete all others).
2. Use appropriate folders in when uploading (I currently have a 'Audio' and 'Video' folder). Add subfolders to keep things more organized if you have stuff that should be grouped together.
3. Please check to make sure something hasn't been uploaded already
4. If you abuse this, I will take it down.
5. Do not delete things unless you either have a better version of the same thing, or something is absolutely posted more than once.
6. If you have a file such as a GLU song you have covered that you would like to add, please make a subfolder in the audio folder named 'COVERS'. Please don't put it with the general audio.
7. Uploads CANNOT have spaces in the name. It will NOT upload.
8. If you download from the directory and not ftp, please Right click/'save as' the link instead of left clicking. Please don't completely kill my bandwidth.
9. Please no official release albums. This is 'Empty', 'GLU' (Self-Titled), 'Life In The So-Called Space Age', 'Up off the Floor' (Pre-release version is OK to put on there though), 'Inside', etc..,

If you guys don't want to use this, that is fine, but I figured I would offer the free space up. I don't use my site for much, so why not. Figured that this would be a bit better than the gmail at any rate.

So far I have From Your Mouth, Fame, and Don't Know How To Be videos uploaded.

Tomorrow if I have time I'll upload some live videos or some MP3's.

I was going to upload No More love and all wrong vid... but the ftp link takes me to a yahoo geocities page and says an error has been encountered. Am I doing something wrong?

That's not a real link. It's a host. That means you gotta add it as "host" to you ftp uploader, together with the usersname and pw.
I guess that's what's "wrong"! :D
Great idea, btw. Very generous indeed!

Oh yeah, i tested the ftp upload for those who doubt... it's working fine.
Because i always hear that the mastering of Up off the Floor is so bad, and because i don't agree to this (apart from Choir Boy, maybe...) i am currently uploading this album.
For those who apparently have another version. :)

Sorry, I should have specified that you have to use an ftp program/client for option 2 only. I changed the original post to reflect that.

ftp is the only way you can upload stuff too.

I don't know. I found out only last week that there are apparently different versions around. My version has a bad mastering of Choir Boy but all the rest sounds 100%. That's why i figure this release is somewhat different - also because i understand that on the original release there is no Choir Boy and no Fame.
I guess you best download your favourite first and listen if there indeed is a difference. I'd like to know myself too!

The UOTF can be the promotional cd which is the better quality one aside from the actual release of the cd...... Thanks by the way.....

Not a problem at all guys... Get the stuff all loaded up there!
I'm really not using the space so use as much as you guys need. This will make it so much easier to share this stuff.

The better you label stuff, the better it will be to tell what it is though, so try and keep things organized!

You're right. I renamed the UOTF files so you can see better what songs they are.
