Self
Reading some of these threads got me interested in Self... I downloaded all their material in a night, and I am very impressed. Trunk Fulla Amps is one the the funniest and best songs I've ever heard. Thanks for referring to these guys.

I have everything...silvercrank wrote:"Expedia" yeah i get thrilled everytime i hear that. *easily amused*
does anyone have gizmodgery or any of the latest cds?
"gizmodgery" is unbelievable cause its all done with toy instruments. its amazing.
"breakfast with girls" is really good, unbelievable production, great supper catchy songs.
"subliminal plastic motives" is probably the heaviest record. its also unbelievable...some of you may remember the single "so Low" from many many years ago...."I'm so low that i wish i was dead with a knife in my chest and a bullet in my head."
"halfbaked serenade" is really hard to find in stores anywhere, but its good, probably my least favorite, but its got some of my favorite self songs like "kiddies" and "sassy britches."
the chorus for kiddes is great:
"lets go trick or treating dressed up like marilyn manson, snatch up all the kiddes and hold them all for ransom"
good stuff, i would say if you like any self, you'll probably like all self.

the first time i heard that verse was when i was watching mtv and they wre doing some how and they were fading into some other scene and that played. anyway, like a few years later im going by figuring i like self i should buy more cds and i see in newbury comics this used version of halfbaked serenade. when i popped it in my cd player at home and i heard kiddies, i was like OH MY GOD ITS THAT SONG-- AND ITS BY SELF!!!!! i love it. anyway, i love the graphics that he uses for his cd artwork, always so cute and delectable. self has good taste!redstar wrote:"halfbaked serenade" is really hard to find in stores anywhere, but its good, probably my least favorite, but its got some of my favorite self songs like "kiddies" and "sassy britches."
