dont know if any of you know this, but when Dave was living with me in 2001 he was heavily going back and forth with Aaron Lewis from STAIND to collaborate on a "solo-song" together..nothing came of it, but interesting little tid bit of info/trivia you can wow all your friends with (Glu and Staind fans, lol)
hoora
Yeah...i don't know about the guy from staind.....
never really dug that music...but it was just a little different than that whole "limp biskit-rap rock" stuff goin on back in 99-2000-ish.
Anyway, as we throw names around...i'm just waiting patiently...cuz i know it's going to be phenominal when the album is released.
To be honest....all that David did over last summer sounded awesome.
I've been Listening to "Clear Mind" alot lately......it's reminds me of GLU...cuz of the whole fast paced feel of it.
Anyway....we just have to be patient

Dave Gahan is the best choice and I think Dave would have been honored if he got involved.
Aaron Lewis doesn't do rap-limp bizkit type stuff but they did emerge from the local scene here in Mass to the big time right around when that stuff was big. Mr. Lewis I think would also do him some justice unlike Billy Corgan or the dude from My Chemical Romance. M.C.R. blah!

I hate staind with a passion.
It would have been nice to see this taken over properly like they did when the lead singer of Snot, Lynn Strait, died in a tragic car wreck in 98.
Strait Up is an excellent album, it would have been awesome to see Daves album finished by Jeff and sprinkled with a little collaborations of artist friends of daves, and maybe include a second album with covers by other bands that dug GLU...
I'm sorry, but i really dont think we're going to see david bowie or anyone like that on this album when it's finally released...

Heh, I really don't care if Gerard Way, David Bowie, or Tiny Tim is appearing on the cd, I'm just happy that it's getting released at all, and whoever it is, I think they are feeling honored (atleast I would hope) to have such a chance, to appear on this album that almost didn't even see the light of day. We get to hear David's life's work, his magnum opus, the work he was doing when He was on top of his world, happy, and feeling human, and most of all loving, his fans, his woman, and his "rearrange"d life. I guess I'm just ranting, I should lay off the sauce a bit, I think.
good day, night.
