bands with GLU influence

Post by Mateo808 »

a friend of mine who has an up and coming band (called Trip Device, out of San Fran, Cal) is a huge GLU fan. In fact we saw GLU in 95 in Salt Lake City. To say that GLU was an influence on the Trip Device sound is an understatement. I wonder how many other bands out there are/where GLU fans before hiting hit big?

i mispell because, my physical body (ie: my hands), can't keep up with the awesome power of my brain.

311 lists GLU as one of their influences in the blue album insert. Additionally, the song "What was I thinking" on transistor always seemed like a pretty blatant rip-off of "don't know how to be" to me.

wow, 311 - that's cool. What was I thinking is one of my fav 311 songs, it's the kind of song I can play in front of my conservative wife and she doesn't know that the song has lots of bad words LOL!

Want to check out a band with some heavy GLU influence, check out my bro Brian's band http://www.tripdevice.com

There's a lot of lesser knowns too. I'm sure anybody here that plays has some glue influence in them. I hear Dave's voice style and even some jeff in Plastinum's work, I have a song named Plunge that to me resembles some early GLU. It's fun to remenisce like that when you write, you know?

i just looked at my blue album insert and i didn't see anything refering to GLU??
it kinda seemed to good to be true considering GLU's self titled came out 2 months before 311's blue album did...
