www.myspace.com/davidreillylives its a private site, so you will have to send a friend request to view all of the amazing material ive gathered. i have home videos of dave in the studio, flying a plane, and talking to friends. i also have almost every song david ever recorded on my mp3 player, as well as tons of photos, live concert videos, eulogies, and the video for Fame. feel free to check it out. HOWEVER, due to a select group of people who have done everything they can to discredit me and take me down due to unsubstantiated rumors regarding the nearly 10 year friendship i had with david reilly, i will need to check your friends lists for these people (they tore down my site once), and i will also need a message from each of you promising not to take sides with either me or the few people against me. you have to understand, whether you believe me or them, david DESERVES to be remembered and his legacy embraced, and since NOBODY is doing a DAMN THING, ESPECIALLY these few people who have tried to take me down, to memoralize david online, i am the one who has stepped up to do it. thanks to brian paone for writing a book about dave. he is the ONLY OTHER PERSON who knew and loved david who is doing anything to remember him. its a DAMN SHAME nobody else is doing anything. david deserves SO MUCH BETTER THAN THIS. so please, dont take sides and come visit the tribute site. i garuantee you will enjoy it. here are the links to my tribute site as well as mr. paone's novel AND my new ALL LIVE GLU site, with nothing but live Glu performances to listen to:

i dont mind if you talk #### about me and take sides when you dont know ANYTHING about the truth behind davids TRUE FRIENSHIP with me. all you know is what youve heard. i am not attacking you, nor will i attack anyone else. bottom line is, your bias towards me is not doing david's memory any good. you know why? IM THE ONLY ONE WHOS TAKEN THE TIME TO PUT UP A TRIBUTE SITE FOR HIM. just remember that. i have been sitting in his car when something comes up, a call about you or whatever, and SEEN his entire demeanor change. do not tell me that i don't know about your 'true friendship' with him. i heard it from his mouth. i am not talking #### about you, i will not relay what was said by him to others, i have been very careful not to do so and i have STATED that i don't want to sling crap about you. very clearly, in other threads. but it seems that this is all you can do about everyone else and it's really pretty ridiculous. i don't doubt that you care about him. i also don't dig that you discount how everyone else feels and latch onto those who believe you like a leach.

no one knows anything but what they have heard. david is not hear to confirm or deny it. therefore, why should ANYONE not participate in the ONLY PLACE to remember david??? i am just trying to be the TRUE FRIEND i was to him, NO MATTER if he and i had our ups and downs, WHICH ADMITTEDLY WE DID. ive addressed that many times. unfortunately, nobody knows that david and i cleared EVERYTHING up shortly after amy's death. we also spent over A WEEK together in philly in 2003 discussing the same problem. we were friends, but we BOTH wronged each other. you never heard my side of the story. the fact is, I DONT WANT ANYONE TO HEAR MY SIDE OF THE STORY. i dont want anyone to focus on our relationship AT ALL. i want them to enjoy what ive created for my friend david. i want david to be remembered, and im doing the best i can. - m@x

then why attack me and be so rude to me? if you think i have wronged david, so be it. i am not out to change your opinion. all im asking is that you realize that i am working my ass off to make sure he is remembered because he was my FRIEND. ive put alot of time and effort into the only tribute site to him, and thats all that should count, right? if ive wronged you, i apologize. however, lets meet on some neutral ground and make sure that AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE remember dave, and one way of doing that is visiting my site. i dont want you to take sides. i want the past to be the past, and the future to be ENTIRELY DEVOTED to preserving dave's legacy, and thats EXACTLY what ive been trying to do with my tribute site.

you haven't wronged me in particular, and that's why i have refused to talk about you behind your back. anything i've had to say about you, has actually manifested itself in a harsher way in this thread 'to your face' i guess you could say. i wasn't attacking you, and the only reason i might have come off as rude is because for the most part i have heard nothing but you talking about everyone else and how you're the wronged one here, in the same breath you use to promote your site. and those same people who are doing the 'wronging' are flat-out refusing to even acknowledge you, let alone say bad things about you in general.

i guess my hostility towards you stemmed from the fact that in my personal opinion, if i were you, i would be just promoting my site, not talking about what a victim i am and dragging some of his best friends through the dirt. that just seems disrespectful to him. in my opinion, anyways.

just had to add my 2 cents here in saying that many people here met dave..many did not....many enjoyed his music..if you are on this site u probably did....who cares who was closest or knew him best...does that mean anything? does that give someone better kharma or a free upsize at Mc D's? not really..as far as what someone is doing or not doing well the way I see it...if you got time and resources to make a tribute or write a book (which is ONE person's perspective of a person who like all people is multi-faceted and 3 dimensional) then great..I will check it out and enjoy it hopefully..especially if it is something I didn't know or haven't seen..many people on here talked to Dave via AIm or email or phone or whatever, some of us knew him as fans and some maybe more (but sometimes not as much as they would like everyone to think they did) but in the end I have to say I just get sick of all these people clinging on to the last remaining remnents (unfortunately) of a man who wanted nothing more than to just write some kickass music..I am sure he wouldn't want people bickering over who knew him or who hung out with him or whatever..I know I wouldn't..but then what do I know..I never crawled up the ass of a corpse to rip out his heart to show as a trophy.....

david and i were good friends for 9 years. he stayed at my place in atlanta, i stayed at his place in pasadena and in philly. we spent a total of 29 complete days together. i suggest you check out the site www.myspace.com/davidreillylives you will see photos of us getting beer at a diner. i hope thats enough evidence for you that im not a 'celebrity worshipper'. i was his genuine friend, and you know nothing about that, do you? so dont presume to include me in your list of the people who say 'i knew david'. no, my friend. david and i knew EACH OTHER, more than you can imagine. - m@x

umm i never said you did or didnt know david..in fact my whole message was aimed at everyone in general spitting venomous words and blame and whatever else...but since you included yourself I'll say the same to you..I come to this site to hear music, see if there is anything new or share info with other like minded people..I could care less if you followed dave around and ate his droppings to be honest with you...my point being if you want to make a site..make one..who cares if it is the only one and how hard you worked..I have been to the page you made..it's cool and all..nice work..but other than that I could care less how much you think you knew him or knew him or whatever..just seems like you want everyone to bow down and worship you for your efforts or for knowing dave. oh yeah 2 other other things I wanted to say...the whole "I am the biggest fan, no I am no I am no I was his friend no I was his bestest friend " proves what? Dave the musician meant as lot of different things to a lot of different people he touched us all in many ways..dave the person was a person..he pissed people off, he made people laugh he was flawed like anyone else he was not a god he was a man with a gift that we all got to share with him..or more like he shared with us. he probably had dealers that knew more about him than anyone on here knew..saw him in some of his darkest times....but you dont need to convince me of anything because I dont care..some pics and a fan site don't prove anything really so quit trying....oh and THIS SITE IS THE BEST AND ONLY REAL DAVE/GLU TRIBUTE SITE OUT THERE..a collaboration of many people contributing everything they knew, have, lived and felt about dave.
