I have recieved permission for Killing The Barrowbirds

this is how this is going to work, if anyone has a problem with the way its going to be posted, just remember David's sister is being EXTREMELY kind right now and allowing this to happen in the first place.

The rules:

- only 1 track is allowed to go up online (picked by me)

- it will only be available for a total of 24 hours

- this is for the members of this forum ONLY

how its going to work:

At 12:01pm on Sunday April 29th the song "Eyebrain, Sightrain" (Killing The Barrowbirds) will be posted on a private MySpace page. At 07:00pm on Monday April 30th it will be removed.

The link to the MySpace page that I have built for it will be announced on Saturday April 28th in this thread.

Anyone have any questions or comments or suggestions?

because if your family member was DR, wouldn't you want at least a little for yourself?

also, we should probably assume that these aren't exactly David's shining moments, so there is probably a preservation of memory thing going on.

you are 90% correct, I think the other 10% of the reason is David was in these bands with other people. and none of the bands were "signed" so we would also be releasing other people's material without their permission and his family doesnt want any backlash...

also, daid is dead so there is no real way to even know if he would WANT these tracks heard by anybody, thats another reason why his family has kept me under such tight "promise" with them. Its not like we can go ask him if its ok and there may be a reason why he didnt want them heard anymore...

I was actually shocked when Gretchen said "ya, go ahead, give them 1 track." honestly I didnt think I would get that response...

i think what he is saying (and correct me if I'm wrong, man), is despite the fact that his family may assume that they know what DR would have wanted, we can't be totally sure. Maybe he would have, maybe not. but in the end, knowing that there is more stuff, is almost painful, as we are fans. like all of those sublime fans who have EVERYTHING. same goes with any band and their fans.

I may be wrong, but I think that's what it means.
