my hard drive just... well pretty much died. i was unplugging the molex power cable from the cd drive and somehow the power got bumped on.
the next thing attached to the power was my hard drive... its toasted now.
anyone know of a cheap place to get the data recovered?
its a 160gb sata and had all of tribute designs on it.
ive heard that you can put it in the freezer after a full day to make it work for 20 min or so to recover data. have no clue if it works
Solved all of my problems for everyone but me
How is that a solution or recovery
i did this once installing a dvd burner many moons ago.
basically, i took all of the hard ware out, cleaned out the case (you know, might as well while it's open) put it all back in and it turned on, but i seem to remember something kept coming up similar to the blue screenof death but this was a while ago, anywho, i reinstalled xp, and i was up and running again with all of my files. but i think i also had to reinstall things like photoshop and cool edit (ahh, 1999).

Can't believe my account still works here .
Does the HD power-up at all? If it powers up but the data's corrupt, then just use GetDataBack it's recovery software that works like a charm. I used to use it when I was a computer technician... back when I was a huge GLU fan and they were my favourite band .
