Met The Guys Many Times

Post by Jeff Scheel »

I was lucky enough to play shows and hang out with the GLU men. The First big radio festival Gravity Kills ever played GLU was on the bill. Turzo and I became friends and we actually had a few meals together. Dave was far more reserved. Had less face time with him but we always showed mutual respect for each other and didn't have any of that Lead Singer BS between us that other guys radiated.

I had talked to David Reilly once. I had emailed him about my Fluzee album I hadn't received. He replied back and told me some things that I won't repeat on here. I wished him luck. I also told him that if he ever played Akron I would get everyone together that I knew to come out and see him. He did a while later (2004 I believe) and I brought out about 15 people. A couple of my friends talked to him, but I didn't say anything to him.

I saw GLU open for Filter New Years Eve in Cleveland (95/96 I believe), and later that year at Trilogy in Cleveland (96 I believe). Great memories. Great shows.
