David's solo show at TTs, and the "Early Tapes" demos....
I just wanted everyone to know that the following two albums:
David Reilly solo live @ TT The Bear's Place in Cambridge, MA 09/01/01
and
The Early Tapes (a collection of songs David recorded before he started GLU)
are both going to be removed from iTunes and Amazon.com start April, 2010 to make room for How Humans R(x) and the Fluzee album. We are not renewing the licensing for those two "albums" so anyone who wanted to grab them, and have been putting it off, do not wait any longer than March 31st cause they will be gone and no longer available.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.
Oh ya, and Fluzee will have an extra bonus track on it as well, a song called R5 that Fluzee recorded that did not make the album.

Here are the only David Reilly albums on iTunes/Amazon from "our" DR:
Robot Teen America
Live solo @ TT The Bears PLace Cambridge, MA 09/01/01
The Early Tapes
Inside
(and of course the 4 GLU albums are on there as well)
In April we are launching the Fluzee album and How Humans R(x) and possibly a collection of GLU non-album tracks/rarirites as an "album"
anything else "David Reilly" is by the other guy, lol.

What is this "Early Tapes" thing?
Is it on the FTP? If not, i think it should be, as everything else is.

Early Tapes is a collection of songs from 3 of David's bands he was in when he was in highschool: Kan Do Kill, A Sheet Of Metal and Killing The Barrowbirds (I talk about these 3 "projects" in my book). They are not and will never be on the FTP under Gretchen's specific wishes and they were to be available for only 1 year to the fans (April 2009 - April 2010).
With as much leeway as she has given me over the last 4 years with everything, I have to abide by her wishes.

The ones that I could track down have given permission for it (one of them is the guy who wrote the "epilogue" to the book)... and all the money made off of it is going to a savings bond for David's 12 year old nephew so no one but his nephew is making any money off it.asamorris wrote:are the other musicians present on these recordings getting any money from this? do they even know about it?
and, to be honest, Killing The Barrowbird was David's first solo project anyway (like Robot Teen America) so there arnt any other musicians, and A Sheet Of Metal was just him and 1 other guy who I contacted (David did all the music: drums, bass, guitar, and the other guy, Neil, did only the vocals) and then the other band is Kan Do Kill, which David was the keyboard player for and thats the band that I was able to contact who wrote the epilogue in my book... so, ya.... they were contacted and all is 10-4.

Since they are gone now, was there ever physical copies released that I could track down? I'm newer to the board and missed out on grabbing them

No...
I am the only one who has the original physical copies of these recordings. If you shoot me an e-mail I can just burn them for you and mail them out.
